Terry found this pattern at a quilt store in Bend when we were there for the Sisters' Quilt show. He picked out fabrics for it. We used cottons for the front and a flannel for the back. I used a wool batting for the first time with it - it is supposed to be warm in winter and cool in summer.
The pattern is Costa Maya, and the quilt measures 72" square. The blocks measure 9" completed with courthouse steps and a half square triangle. The quilt is easier to make than it looks. The border is the left overs of the courthouse steps blocks and a yellow square. I used a red / orange / yellow / green variegated thread and quilted oak leaves, heart heaves and loops.
